When He Loves, He Leads by Example — For the Sake of Allah

Love is a word we hear so often, yet rarely do we witness it lived in its truest form. For me, love showed itself in the quiet strength, sincerity, and character of him— not just in grand gestures or sweet words, but in the way he chooses to lead with faith and values every single day.
He doesn’t just say “I love you” —
he shows it in the way he carries himself, in the choices he makes,
and in the way he fears Allah when it comes to how he treats me.
He strives to be a man of character — not just for me, but for his own soul.
He’s patient when things get hard.
He’s honest when no one’s watching.
He’s gentle, even on the days that test him.
He doesn’t only protect me from the outside world.
He protects my peace — the part of me no one sees.
He doesn’t just dream with me — he works beside me for those dreams.
He doesn’t point fingers when I’m at my worst — he reflects, corrects, and grows with me.
Why?
Because he knows that loving me is an amanah — a trust from Allah.
And he treats that trust with care, humility, and reverence.
“And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy…”
(Surah Ar-Rum 30:21)
This verse is not a poetic metaphor in our home — it’s real.
Our marriage is far from perfect, but it is full of intentional love.
Love that strives. Love that forgives.
Love that knows this world is temporary — and that what we build here should lead us to Jannah, Insha’Allah.
Through him, I’ve learned that Islamic love is not loud.
It doesn’t always post itself for the world to see.
It’s consistent. It’s quiet. It’s deeply rooted in actions.
He is not perfect, and neither am I.
But he raises his standards not for validation, but for Allah —
so that he can be a better husband, a better father, a better man.
And in him, I see the kind of person I’d pray our son becomes.
The kind of man I’d be proud for our daughter to marry.
Marriage in Islam isn’t about ownership or control.
It’s about mercy. Respect. Accountability.
It’s about two flawed people helping each other become better for the sake of Allah.
And that’s the love I’ve found in him.
A love that brings me closer to peace.
Closer to growth.
And, Insha’Allah… closer to Jannah.
May Allah bless every marriage with this kind of love — a love that uplifts, protects, and reflects His mercy.
Ameen.
Reflection
In a world that often celebrates loud love and fleeting moments, I’ve come to cherish the quiet strength of a man who leads with faith. He reminds me every day that real love isn’t about perfection — it’s about sincerity, effort, and the constant intention to please Allah through how we care for each other.
True love, the kind that lasts, is rooted in Taqwa, nourished by Rahmah, and guided by the example of the Prophet ﷺ. It doesn’t just hold your hand in this life — it helps you walk the path to the next, side by side.
So to the ones still waiting for that kind of love — don’t settle for less than someone who loves you for the sake of Allah.
And to those who have found it — protect it, nurture it, and be grateful.
Because love that brings you closer to Allah is one of the greatest blessings in this world.
And that’s the kind of love I pray we all find — or become.
In this life and in the next, Bi’idhnillah.
